Sony Ericsson continues its advertisements with the 3GSM World, after the launching of Sony Ericsson K610i and J100i , the company announces a new "Smartphone/Music Phone" in its range Walkman, Sony Ericsson W950i.

It is about Smartphone (wiki) (computer of mobile pocket/telephone) accompanied by an operating system of the type Symabian 9.1/UIQ 3.0. Compatible 3G/UMTS, this telephone embark out of standard 4 GB of Flash memory and propose functions of audio walkmans numerical. W950i can thus read audio files, even when the telephone is not activated (code SIM be did not enter yet). Formats MP3, AAC, AAC+, E-aac+, WAV and mâ are dealt with. The telephone embarks also a tuner FM RDS and proposes out of standard a stereo helmet.

W950i exploits a touch screen of TFT 2.6 inches - 240 X 230/262 144 colors. The software part is composed in particular of a navigator Web Opera 8 and a customer push email. W950i has of a controller Bluetooth 1.2 and a port USB 2.0

It measures 106 X 54 X 15 mm and weighs 112 grams. Its announced endurance is 7.5 hours in conversation, 2.5 hours in mode 3G/UMTS and 340 hours in day before. Autonomy in wandering mode will be of approximately 10 hours. Sony Ericsson W950i will be available as from the third quarter at a still unknown price for the moment.

To supplement W950i, Sony Ericsson will propose a stereo helmet Bluetooth without wire with remote control + screen: Hbh-ds970. This last father 27 grams and offers a 6 hour endurance in function and 12.5 day in day before.

One obvious feature missing is a digital camera, which is a strange omission, although the M600 doesn't have one either.
