Sony Ericsson idou - with 12.1 megapixel camera & a 3.5″ 16:9 touchscreen

Sony Ericsson IDOU will probably be the highlight of the MWC 2009 (mobile world congress in Barcelona) for the company. However keep in mind IDOU is only a concept name until they’re ready to market it. Until we get a list of full specs you’ll have to make do with these features:
  • Symbian OS
  • 3G
  • 12MP camera with Xenon flash
  • 3.5″ screen
  • GPS receiver

Idou

I wonder what the price will be ... and hope it provides 100GB+ memory support otherwise taking pictures at 12.1MP is no fun

See this:

Sony Ericsson idou - Google Product Search

The price is definitely US $700+.

Will this 12 MP be any good with out an optical lens ? In my experince, if you want good photos in all conditions get a medium range non-SLR camera.

Nothing can beat an SLR though..

All you need to understand the concept how it works....

Watch my avatar itself...

Its been properly captured with the help of lights and manual lens adjusting

The only drawback is sometimes nature doesn't wait for you to adjust the lens to capture something

Exactly... but we do have SLR camera's with auto focus adjust.

....

But when we plan to make a Photoshootout or something .. SLR is always preffered by PROFESSIONALS

yes .. SLR is the best, but if you use auto focus get the digital ones, will come cheaper and less bulky.

I love taking photos. But until now i'm not confident enough to buy an SLR. Probably I'll start with an SLR with auto focus in order to make a smooth transition.
