Sony Ericsson's new W700 Walkman cell phone

Sony Ericsson has just announced their new W700 with a built in , and a camera. The 8th Walkman phone from Ericsson comes packed with a lot of cool features and is available in a classy Titanium Gold. The W700 is tri-band consisting of GSM/GPRS 900/1800/1900MHz, and has a cool 2 Mega Pixel camera, and other features that make this phone a definite position on the “I want to get” list. While continuing the legacy of the Walkman line of phones the W700 promises a good amount of cool and exiting features that would get any cell phone fanatic screaming for joy.
The cell features a MP3 player, as well as a camera, and with the large 1.8 inch TFT display with a maximum resolution of 176x220 pixels its something to deeply consider when getting a cell. The W700 also comes equipped with a slot for all the pictures and music that you’ll ever need. Inside the box with the cell, users will also find a 256mb Duo, but with sizes like 2GB available on the market, users will most likely just get that even though the 256 is a nice start. With a 2GB card capable of holding up to around 500 songs, the W700 is a cell phone that is great for all kind of situations, whether it’s long flights or taking a quick shot of something.
The cell also comes equipped with a high-quality headset that plugs into a standard connector, and there is also a full range of plug-in music accessories from small portable speakers to car systems available on the market for low prices. The only bad thing about that whole package is that it does not come in other colors and while some may find the Titanium Gold attractive, others may not like the idea to much. did confirm a white version of the W700 to come out but that’s much later. The W700 will hit the stores second quarter of 2006, for a price yet to be confirmed.

SE 700i is one of the latest handsets to be released in the Walkman series. It's now available at a price of 13500 INR @ Bangalore....Those who want a phone similar in features as that of the hugely popular K750i can buy this handset provided they know that there's no Autofocus and Macro mode while using the 2MP camera. But this is more than made up by the new Walkman features that comes built in with W700i. The photos taken are of good quality especially when there's is good ambient lighting. The lamp/flash in the phone is adequate for shooting at close quarters and the exposure is acceptable. The volume level of the mp3 player could have been better if the phone had one more speaker. Ring volume is great and the vibra mode adequate. All in all this is a clever buy if someone was looking at K750i.
So whoever thinks it's worth the buy can go ahead and grab one for themselves. Be assured that you wont be disappointed by the whole package.

Dude ... the 3250 will be much better in the same price range ... but shuck .... this walkman series thing is not pretty much clear to me yet ... i mean .. the sound ??? i really don't find anything better in the W550i and my 6681 ....

The whole walkman thingy looks a bit of a hoax to me ... All the walkman series sets are almost 99% alike to the likes of K750 series . The only change is the addition of the "walkman" button . Big Deal .

Yeah .. but a little more research led to to a very sorry fact : the basic OS will still be based on P2K ... which means that both the phones will merely be J2ME based .. albeit with a faster processor ...
