Unlocked French iPhone will use French language ONLY

Orange-France have to release an unlocked version of the iPhone - by
Law.

Apple's master plan is to limit all these phones so that they can only
display French.

I'm sure Canadians won't mind (since most of them are French)

Time to learn some basic french?

I think you'll find that most of the Canadians are actually Canadian
which means that they're not French or American.

Okay, point taken, but the learning curve will be less steep for them
as many of them will know at least elementary french as it is so
widespread in Quebec.

Oh no, another google grooper crossposts more pointless codswallop.
fufu you really need to keep up with developments.
We all know about the bludgeoning legal thingymebobs being instigated
against apple and it's poor value iPhone and restrictive contracts with the
telecoms.
We all know that in the states Apple dramatically cut the price of an
iPhone and that early adopters are furious.
We all know that the iPhone is marketed requiring immediate updates
only available via the expensive contracts.
We all know that with the critical firmware update, Apple have been
forced to flag that it will "kill" unlocked iPhones.
We all know that the replacement iPhone was planned from day one.
The iPhone is designed to become obsolete very rapidly.
We all know now with the carefully engineered hype dying down that
at least here in UK, take up was poor, that most were alert to what a
pile of crap the iPhone is.
We know the timing coincides with Xmas, the subsequent sales, the
expected price drop, and then...the replacements launch in the spring.
We all know that mac devotees who bought into the hype are frantically
trying to justify to themselves and anyone else who will listen that they
haven't wasted their money (but they have though!).
You crossposted to the mac groups just to be provocative.
And yes we all know about that annoying UK queenie commedian/actor/
quiz show compare is always quoted as loving everything Apple, and
that it has nothing to do with him being "very close" to someone in Apple.
Now please drop the iPhone crap, it is an over-priced, low specification
girly phone for people with too much money and little taste.
End of subject.

Hello,

I just saw that T-Mobile in Germany now must sell the iphone without a
lock too (ists qute expensive but it costs 999 Euros), Vodafon seems to
have found a gap in the law and so they archived it for the time beeing
(until a final court deission is made) that T-Mobile must also sell the
iPhone without a contract unfortunately I only could find sources in German
(www.heise.de)

Bye

Hmm, currently running my 'phone in italian, so that doesn't seem too
difficult. Good thinking! Do we have an idea of how much an iPhone-FR will
be?

Thanks for the news

http://www.macdailynews.com/index.ph...tract_for_999/

That's huge news

What's awesome is - all we need is for someone to pay full price for
the phone and then the hackers can 'clone' it
