Funnily enough, I did randomly manage to turn it on successfully at that point - only once though. I've cancelled the number port for the time being as I don't want to risk it. I will keep phoning the technical people though as they do at least seem friendly. If some of the other networks (here's looking at you, Orange) are anything to go by, I'll more than likely get a different answer next time!
