Post Motorola Q to take on Blackberry

U.S mobile carrier Verizon will start selling the much awaited Blackberry beater from next week onwards. The new Motorola Q features Windows Mobile 5.0 and comes with a QWERTY keyboard. It comes in a slim form factor, which is by now popular with the RAZR design.

The other major features include Outlook Mobile, which can sever up to eight e-mail accounts and Exchange Server 2003 synchronization. It also features integrated Bluetooth, audio and video playback and thumbwheel navigation.

The Motorola Q, which is expected to be a competitor to Blackberry and Palm Treo, will use Verizon's high-speed EV-DO network. Says Ed Zander, CEO, Motorola, ""On Verizon Wireless’ broadband EV-DO network, the Moto Q brings together all of the converged solutions you need to work, stay in touch or have fun."

From May 31st onwards, the Moto Q can be bought from verizon's site and it must have reached the stores by early June. "With the best voice, data and design technology in one ultra-thin, intelligent, hard-working device, the Moto Q allows you to be productive and entertained wherever you go," says Zander.

The new Moto Q will be priced at $199.99 with a $100 instant credit and a qualifying voice and data plan and two-year agreemen
