Default Outlook 2007: Certificate error..

Windows Vista Ultimate
Office/Outlook 2007

I'm in the process of migrating from WinXP Pro SP3/Office 2003 SP3 to
WinVista Ultimate/Office 2007 so I can migrate later this year to Windows 7.

I'm able to connect to my Exchange Server 2003 via IE7 on my new WinVista
Ultimate machine. However, connecting via Outlook 2007 isn't possible. I
keep getting the Error Code 8 for an invalid/improper certificate.
When I connected to my Exchange mailserver (mail2.myexchangeserver.com) via
OWA I got the certificate error notice. So, I downloaded and installed the
certificate and everything is fine when I go to OWA now.
When I go into Outlook 2007 after the configuration of the Exchange Server
(no changes from the Outlook 2003 settings) I get that Outlook 2007 can't
connect due to an invalid cerificate. Ok, so now I go into IE7 to get the
certificate 'upgraded' (Tools>Internet Options>Content
tab>Certificates>Intermediate Certificate Authorities) and I see the
certificate listed (1st one listed at mail2.myexchangeserver.com). So, I
think I need to 'move' it to the Trusted Root Certification but I don't know
WHERE it's at physically.
So, what's my location or NEXT step?
Seems SO simple! I've even done a search on C:\ for *.cer and *.crt but
nothing comes up. I've looked under the Users folder and I don't see
anything.
[Note: I've enable seeing the system directories and files in WinVista via
Organize option in Explorer.]
TIA!

Assuming UAC is on.

Open an elevated command prompt and run mmc.

Select file > add/remove snapin. Add the certificates snapin for the "local
computer"

At this point add the certificate (and/or issuing certificate authority
cert) to the trusted root store.

Ok.. I tried what you suggested and apparently I'm not following the correct
bouncing ball!
Here's what I did as I understood your suggestion:
MMC>File>Add/Remove Snapin>selected Certificates>Add button>selected the
Computer Account radio button>NEXT>left the Local Computer radio button as
ON>Finish>OK
Then, File>exit and I got a prompt to save my changes, so I select SAVE
settings to Console1.msc under Administrative Tools
{Desktop>MyUserID>AppData>Roaming>Microsoft>Window s>Start
Menu>Programs>Administrative Tools
After this I went into IE and selected the Content tab>Certificates
button>still found the mail2.mywebsite.com certificate under Intermediate
Certification Authorities. I then selected the tab to the immediate RIGHT
(Trusted Root Certifications). When I browsed to the above location
(...Administrative Tools) I needed to select ALL FILE to see the *.msc file
which was then rejected once I tried to select it. It appears that the
WinVista system is still looking for a *.cer or *.crt type of file.
What now????
TIA!!

I just got it solved! I did the obvious! I exported the *.cer file from the
Intermediate Certificate Authorities and Imported it into the Trusted Root
Certification! Duh! Sometimes the obvious is SO difficult!
Thanks VERY MUCH for your help!!! ;-)
