Hello,
I am sorry, I didn't find a way to start a new thread in this forum. I searched the pages with the browser search for words like thread, new, post, ask, question, and others alike, but nothing. Either I'm blind or it is quite well hidden. To my problem, now, please. After a clean install of Windows 7, I installed Office 2007. I also installed Windows Live Mail to use it as an intermediate to import mail accounts. Therefore, I imported all my many e-mail accounts to Windows Live Mail from previously saved IAF files. Until here all worked as expected. The problem is that now, when I try to "Import internet mail account settings" from Windows Live Mail to Outlook it just answers "No internet accounts were found to import". Or is this forum dead and replaced with a new one, which I couldn't find Can someone please instruct me on how to overcome this problem? |

Use a real newsreader and this problem will never recur. I haven't played enough with Windows Live Mail and Outlook to be able to answer the mail question. -- Brian Tillman [MVP-Outlook] |

Right below "Search For", is the word "New". Click that, and select
"Question". Stryed wrote: > Hello, > > I am sorry, I didn't find a way to start a new thread in this forum. Hello Brian,
You have helped me before and talked about your Yahoo mail account. It came up I can't recall why.I had another nick. I hope you are doing fine. Thank you for your tip. I'll follow your advice. About transferring e-mail accounts, I have always done it with the IAF files. These files can always be installed on Outlook and Windows Mail. I can't understand why Outlook 2007 does not "see" them now. I hope someone else will be kind and tell me how to solve this unexpected problem. Thanks again. |

No later version of Outlook could import IAF files. Instead, Outlook 2002, 2003, and 2007 should be able to import internet account settings from a properly configured Outlook Express. I thought that importing from Windows Mail was possible as well, but I haven't tried it myself. I don't think it's possible to import from Windows Live Mail, though. -- Brian Tillman [MVP-Outlook] |

Well, Brian, thank you for the tip.
However, I stayed without an answer. I add a related new question: Does the Outlook 2007 "Import internet mail account settings" function work with Windows Live Mail as it did with Outlook Express and Windows Mail, or is it a new gift from Microsoft disabling the function just to make our lives easier? Or else, am I having an issue? All help clarifying this point will be very welcome? Thanka Bob, but there is nothing that you say in my browsers. It was like
that before, but changed, disappeared. Why can't I get an answer to my question? Is it so difficult or is iy too recent and people do not know the answer yet? "Bob I" wrote: > Right below "Search For", is the word "New". Click that, and select > "Question". |

Or else, am I having an issue? I don't know the answer to that, since I haven't tried it. But I do have WLM and Outlook on the same PC at home, so if I get a chance, I'll try it. -- Brian Tillman [MVP-Outlook] |
