Yes, all you TV buffs there, the ultimate TV phone is soon to be launched in India. Its the NOKIA N77, "The Nokia N77 takes TV out of the living room," as stated by Jonas Geust, head of Nokia Nseries Players Category, Multimedia, Nokia. The N77 is basically a dedicated TV viewing phone with special features for a great watching experience. It features "The wide 2.4" flat screen and high-quality stereo sound makes it the ideal personal mobile device for enjoying TV programmes on the go." It also sports a dedicated TV key for convenience and saves the channel no. even when the phone is restarted(i.e. switched off and switched on).

 


 

The Nokia N77 also offers the advantage of 30-second replay and live TV watching continues after the replay clip. It also includes an EPG(Electronic programming guide) through which one can browse a 7 days schedule and save a reminder for a program or purchase new channels and view them.

Based on the Series60 3rd edition on Symbian OS, it also has all the pre-requisite features of a N-series phone. These include a 2 megapixel camera(1600 x 1200 pixels), web browsing, e-mail access, calendar and to-do lists, besides other features of N-series it also supports memory expandability with 2gb micro SD card .

The company aims to start the shipping of this phone sometime in this month. Price range: $730-$800. Till then, well we can of course stick to our big tv in the living room!
