Google has recent launched their 360° views for Google Maps for many streets in the San Francisco Bay Area, New York, Las Vegas, Denver and Miami.
So who is shooting all these photos for Google ? Though Google has their own vehicles, equipped with higher resolution cameras, taking snapshots of the streets, they also are taking the help of Immersive Media to collect the pictures. And Immersive Media is using a pretty interesting device to achieve their goal - a disco ball with 11 individual lenses mounted on top of a Volkswagen Beetle.
Immersive's own, patented 11-lens camera
And the mighty vehicle.
