Linux for Laptop.... Please
I have Compaq CQ40-144TU laptop. I have installed Zenwalk in it. But it has some problems....
1. It doesn't give audio o/p to the builtin speakers, I have to use lineout only... 2. Doesn't indicate battery level 3. While playing audio/video if I pause it or close it audio will have residue.. I mean it sticks at at point and repeats playing the same word/sound (hope u r getting wat i m trying 2 say) 4. For clicking the mouse I have to use the button near the touchpad.. cant pat the touchpad.. Can anyone please suggest a good linux/download link which supports these laptop features... Thank you. |

I am not sure whether all the features you need will work, but try Ubuntu 8.10 : http://www.ubuntu.com/GetUbuntu/download

+1 for ubuntu !! Go for ubuntu 8.10 , good for linux beginners. Keep installing the updates and everything will be fine. Also, most of the features will be supported by ubuntu.
