oh yay, X server refuses to start

Please also check the log file at "/var/log/Xorg.0.log" for additional information.

any ideas? this is all the information i got

now ive tried reinstalling X server, restoring original conf file, reinstalling nvidia drivers... what else can i do?

i worked out a fix (UBUNTU, i dont know for other distros)

if anyone wonders

CTRL + ALT + F1 - F6 for no gui mode

Code:
sudo shutdown 1
use xfix

boot up and uninstall EVERY Nvidia driver in synaptic package manager

download the newest NVIDIA driver

go into no GUI mode again

Code:
sudo /etc/init.d/gdm stop
goto the folder u saved the nvidia .run file

Code:
sudo sh FILENAME.run
let it install, and reboot, should fix this particular issue
