Re: I need libpng.so.3 for Ubuntu

You should have a version of libpng installed. Execute the following command in shell and post back the results:

Code:
find / -iname "libpng*.so*" 2>/dev/null

Re: I need libpng.so.3 for Ubuntu

From what I have seen from giving phun a quick run over is that phun depends on libpng.so.3 (which I believe is a 1.2 library, even though it says it requires 1.4).

However, libpng.so.3 from version 1.2 of libpng is incompatible with phun. But it seems in the latest update for the software this issue has been fixed.

UbuntuUpdates - Package "phun" (lucid) - This link should get you the update you need and the notes from the update I have posted below for you as well.

Code:
Version: 5.28-1~getdeb4 	2010-04-25 00:20:40 UTC

phun (5.28-1~getdeb4) lucid; urgency=low

  * Add a link to libpng12.so.0 called
    libpng.so.3.

Re: I need libpng.so.3 for Ubuntu

If you add the address it gives you to software synch for updates it should handle it all for you automatacilly. I don't have my linux box with me but if I remember right off the top of my head if you go to the system menu and the admin section there should be a tag for software sources. Add that addy and that should solve the issue for you. If that doesn't work i'll be at the office tomorrow and I can boot up my linux box and better toy with phun and get back to you.

In order to get the file you will have to install the whole package, even though this will also copy other files that you don't need.
