Penumbra

Overture is a first person adventure game which focuses on story, immersion and puzzles. Instead of using violence to progress the player has to use his/her wits to guide Philip on his quest to unravel the past.

Played from a first person viewpoint, Penumbra is very different from other adventure games. Not only is it powered by a 3D engine utilising cutting edge technology, it also has an advanced physics system which allow for a never before seen environment interaction. The player can open drawers, pull levers, pick up objects and more using natural mouse movements creating a highly interactive and immersive game world.

The weapon system differs from your average game; swinging a melee weapon is done using the mouse which increases the realistic feel of combat. Fighting enemies is not something best done with brute force though, in most situations fighting is a last resort and the player is often better of using his/her wits. The AI of the enemies will also do its best to hunt and scare the player. The creatures encountered can break down doors, use group co-ordination, interact with the physics and more.

Slingshot a new game created by and released by couple of Ubuntu users.
Slingshot is a two dimensional, turn based simulation-strategy game set in the gravity fields of several planets. It is a highly addictive game, and never the same from round to round due to its randomly generated playing fields.

It is a deceptively simple game, the goal is to shoot the other spacecraft through the field of planets, but their gravity makes it tricky. The effects of the gravity mean that although it's easy to learn how to play, and to enjoy playing, it could take a lifetime to thoroughly master.

In order to hit your opponent, you can rotate you ship to aim in any direction, and you can change the power with which your projectile is launched - the initial speed at which it flies.

Warsow is a standalone first person shooter for Windows and Linux. It is under the GPL and based on the 3D Engine Qfusion (a modification of Quake 2's engine). It offers eSport oriented FPS, fast-paced gameplay focused on trix (trick jumps) and the art of move. It offers a complete Power-up System including Weak and Strong fire mode for each weapon. The graphics are in a cartoonish style with celshading-like_but_not_Manga style, mixing dark, flashy and dirty textures, matching the action full of fun and speed.

Changes in 0.31:

• Added BattlEye Anti-Cheat Engine, supporting both Windows and Linux (special huge thanks to Sable for his work)
• Added Team auto-balance
• Added possibility to save stats to a file after match has been finished
• Made Riotgun's shot denser, Plasmagun damage upped slightly, EB damage increased, RL splash radius increased/min damage decreased
• Made bots reaction time slower
• Changed CA scoreboard damage-based
• Fixed missing spawn sounds
• Fixed Win32 couldn't rename downloaded pk3 files
• Fixed fatal error on a configstring overflow
• Wdm11 remixed, with brand new textures and theme, and slightly changed other maps
