HP Printer Won't Print
I'm helping a friend with his HP 5400 series printer on an HP Win XP
machine. Under "Printers and Faxes", it shows 3 of the same printers. I tried to delete the first and second one, but they remain greyed out and "offline". The "HP 5400 Printer (copy 3)" icon shows that the printer is ready, and it's the default printer. When I send a text file and/or image to print, it sends it to the printer, it shows up in the cue, but the printer just sits there. It's on, and it's connected. When I tried to "Add a Printer", it goes through the wizard and says the HP drivers are currently installed, yet when it comes time to print a Test Page, it sends the page to the queue, but the printer does not respond. Any idea what to check first? Thanks! Scott |

How is the printer connected - USB or network.

There's only one computer/printer in the house. The friend says he hasn't changed anything with the setup at all. Scott |

And silly as it might sound, I would try another USB cable just to make sure there's not a problem there. Rifty -- riftynet - put a dot after rifty |
