ip1800 Canon Printer not responding
Vista Home Basic
I had a printer like this one, canon ip1800, working. But the computer was changed (a user switch) and the old programs are gone. I've rebuilt the computer, including reinstalling the Canon driver, but the printer won't respond. I've uninstalled and re-installed using the download from But I get the same result. When I try a test page or anything else, I get the small box, Canon iP1800 LPT1, saying "printer is not responding" . The USB cable seems fine. I've tried different cables, and the computer makes the appropriate sound when the cable is unpluged and repluged. So what's my next step? -- Nehmo |

Re: ip1800 Canon Printer not responding
I am assuming that it is connected to usb port, you should not get the lpt1
message. You may need to change the port to usb. It should be in the control panel under printer and properties. I am basing this answer on windows xp. My Vista machine is in the shop for repairs so I can't check the location. "Nehmo" <> wrote in message news:... > Vista Home Basic > I had a printer like this one, canon ip1800, working. We uninstalled and changed the port name (should be usb virtual printer port for usb ). She thought some software interfered and caused the problem. The printer works now. |
