Replacement for HP 6122?

I have been using an HP 6122 printer for the last four years with great
satisfaction. I especially liked the fact that it uses the large (42ml) and
cheap HP 45A cartridge. It is built very solidly.

The printer has become erratic, it leaves large streaks, and a sample page
is scrambled. The "ink light" keeps flashing. I believe my problems started
when I allowed the printer to run out of ink in both cartridges. Replacing
the cartridges does not help.

Is there a replacement printer for the 6122 that uses the 45 cartridge, or
another cheap cartridge?

I hate all these new printers with 8ml cartridges.

Re: Replacement for HP 6122?

I should have mentioned, I use the printer mostly for text, with an
occasional low quality photo print. Home use only.
