Photo on a plain background has a "box" around it

Hi

I'm using an Epson Stylus Photo R800 with CorelDraw 11.

I'm having trouble with one particular image.

On screen it looks perfect and as expected but when printing there is a
slight problem.

I'm creating a brochure which has a plain background with a 10% black fill.
On top of that I have imported a photo. Originally the photo had a white
background but I changed that to 10% black to match.

On screen they blend perfectly and there is no discernable edge on the
imported photo.

But when I print the photo has a darker grey background so there is an
obvious square surrounding the photo.

So is this a problem with CorelDraw or the printer driver for the Epson?

Any suggestions on how to resolve this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your time.

Ian

Is it possible for you to create the picture with a transparent background?
If you can then when you place the picture over the 10% black, the
background of the brochure should replace the background of the picture
seamlessly.
