Print Queue Gets Stuck with Office 2007 and XP pro

I have not heard about this problem, but it has happened on two
different XP Pro machines as I moved them to Office 2007. So, I am
certain it is the move to Office 2007.

On each, they printed fine with office 2003 to my 3 different Hp
printers connected through different JetDirect devices (each has a
seperate JetDirect device, two of which are seperate devices and one
of which is built in the third printer). never had a single problem.

Six months ago, I installed Office 2007 on one machine. Immediatly,
the problem started. Print a document from any source (Office or
other, such as IE) and it would go to the Queue, it would say
"printing" and nothing would happen. Wait an hour of a day; it does
not matter. try to delete it from the Queue, it says Deleting but
again, nothin happens (no deletion, no printing).

The only work around I found was to stop the spooler and start the
sppoler (I set up a batch file to do this that I ran every time before
I printed). This worked about 95% of the time, but was a real pain.

I chalked it up to a bad install of windows or something and lived
with it.

Last week, I put Office 2007 on another XP Pro machine, a desktop in
the same network. The same problem started immediatly.

I am using HP's Install Network Printer wizard to set up the print
connections (it is the only thing I have found that will work reliably
with JetDirect), except for the HP 1320 (which ahs the jetDorect
integrated), which I did with the set-up CD.

This is really frustrating, all the more so because I do not see that
others are having the same problem. Any ideas?

If you reboot your computer and turn your printer off for 30 seconds
and then turn it back on, it should clear out any print ques that
aren't clearing out...also make sure your printer cables aren't loose,
that they are connected well to the printer and CPU.

The first thing I would try is to remove the old printer driver off
the computer CPU and download the newest driver for each printer on
the HP website. Then install the printer drivers through "Add a
Printer" and you must know where you saved the downloaded printer
driver and may need to unzip it before you install it.

HP makes updates to the printer drivers occasionally to fix bugs/
issues and for newer software that is developed, as may be the case
for Office 2007.

Good Luch and if you ever need cartridges for your printers, we can
save you money and offer a 100% guarantee on all products.
