Re: need help with cd printing

After going through 2 Epson R200 printers (which was great for printing CDs,
I switched to a nice Canon Pixma ip6000D that I bought on Ebay. I also
bought a CD tray for it and enabled the CD printing feature. It doesn't
require physically changing the the printer itself. Just simply enabling the
onboard chip for CD printing. Buying an older model on Ebay (you can find
them new in box) like the ip3000, ip4000, ip5000, ip6000D are all non
chipped printers allowing you to buy ink cartridges for less than $1usd
each. You can also but newer models such as ip3200, ip4200, ip4500, etc
(these are all chipped printers but can still be enabled to print to a CD)
After using Epson printers for many years I find that my Canon is by far the
best at printing CDs and the most economical on ink.

i had an epson 420, i think that was the number.
it was great for printing cd's.
it died and i got an epson 800. this is crap.
the color quality is way way down for printing
on cd's. i wish i never got the thing. i've since
found out that it is because they changed the
kind of ink they used to offer.
my question is:
is there a way to use my new printer and
get sharper looking cd's??
if not, could someone recoment a cd printer that
is excelent that doesn't cost an arm and a leg??
thanks,
bonnie
