Dear Friends,

i would like to have an information

My desktop is
CPu
Supports socket A(Socket-462) for AMD Athlon
supports upto 2800+ or higher speed
Motherboard

KT4AV series

AMD Athlon(tm)Xp
1.10GHz, 1GB ram

My question is

i would like to change my processor ( 2.0GHz or higher speed processor of AMD Athlon)without changing my motherboard

Can anyone tell me the processor model which is apt for my mother board

Your going to be out of luck im afraid.

Those chips were discontinued years ago though you may find one on Ebay. Im afraid you in for a motherboard change if you want to upgrade your system.

Hurray!! I'm using the same Socket A mobo with an Athlon 2200+ (1.8 GHz). The best upgrades for this socket will be Athlon XP 3200+ (2.33 G) or Socket A Sempron 3300+ (2.2 G).

It was the first PC I ever own. Because of this emotional attachment I decided to keep it intact.

Btw. I'm using this for browsing only. For all other needs I got my Powerful HP laptop.

@Strider... If your pc slows down I have some coal you put in to speed it up a bit

Or maybe a new hamster would help LOL

first of all you should tell me the name of your mother board config
than only i can advice because your desktop seems to be old so it will depend which 2.0Ghz or greater processor will be very compatible with your mother board
