Re: Best PC configuration in 40k

Oh yeah!
Of course it is.

BTW...
I could easily take the spare (umpteen) g's off your hands if they just so happen to be burning a hole in your pocket.

Re: Best PC configuration in 40k

Get Core 2 Duo E8600 (+US$120) or at least Core 2 Duo E8500 (+US$40). Comparision.

Also go for a 4 GB of RAM with higher clock rate. Get an nVidia 9xxx card also.

Re: Best PC configuration in 40k

Configure one my dad has right now.

Intel Skulltrail Motherboard (600-700)
2 x C2QX 9771 (1800-2000)
32 FB RAM Server Grade (Not really sure, as the deals are different could be (900-1500)
2 x Blu Ray Drives (300x2)
6 x 1TB HDD's (190 x 6)
4 x XFX GTX280 (650 x 4)
2 x 1500watt PSU (500 x 2)
A Lian Li server tower (?)

Monitor, software, acessories and peripherals etc up to you what you want

Basically anything beyond 20k price combining a whole system package is not useable. Unless your a IT Tech Administrator or a Server Class User or even a Uploader. It is basically not worth it and overkill for either you or me using it!

(NOTE: I think the op meant 4k not 40k?)

4GB is too much and 4GB worth of 800MHZ Ram ain't better in both value and performance compared to 2GB worth of Dual Channelled 800MHZ Ram.
