Compaq EVO N1020V motherboard

hi,
i have a compaq EVO N1020V. Unfortunetly i lost its battery. i m using it without battery for 1 year. my laptop stop functioning due to short circuit in it motherboard. when i disassemble it and start diagnosing the problem. i found a zener diod (Z1) shorted. remove the zener and then i check motherboard. it was ok then.. I try to find out the correct value of zener diode but i couldn't understand it value. I then thought that may be is a voltage protector. so if i remove it then my laptop will start working. but unfortunetly its doesn't happen. laptop power light light up for a while but then again laptop mother board showed short circuit. now when i checked motherboard again... i found some more component shorted. it is a 8 pin chip with a No 4800 (M519) on it. i just want to know the value of zener diode and also want to know that what is this 4800. i think it is a voltage regulator module. But i need help...

You will need to get in touch with someone from Compaq / HP support to find out the correct value. Try their forums, some of the staff used to answer questions there.

Btw. I haven't used Zener diodes since college days, so correct me if I'm wrong. Isn't there a value on the diode casing?
