Exclamation Motherboard Problem?!?!

Heys guys,

this is my 1st post and i am kinda new to this.

so,
i have a "chaintech zenith value edition vnf4 ultra"
and i custom built my computer.
i installed an AMD 3200+ S939 (athlon 64).
and after about a couple of months of the computer working fine...
i have a problem.
one day it just stopped booting.
i have changed the RAM and the power supply.
that pretty much narrows it down to the motherboard or CPU.

anyway to find out which is the problem?
any help?

i cant tell what the problem is.

the computer turns on... but the screen is blank...
all fans are working.
no beeping sounds or anything.

thnx again you guys.

Re: Motherboard Problem?!?!

Reset the CMOS.

Make sure your fans are dustfree and all clean and not clogged up.

Make sure you Thermal Paste under your CPU Heatsink and the current not dried up. When applying new thermal paste, clean the old paste off.

Also check your graphics card.

When you power up your computer, do you smell anything burnt check your Northbridge heatsink and make sure its got paste under it as well.

Lightbulb Re: Motherboard Problem?!?!

Thnx for the reply!

I did as u suggested.
Still no luck.
It's the classic no video no beep situation!

I tried it all.
So is there anyway to find to differenciate a faulty motherboard from a faulty CPU? (other than replacement?)

Re: Motherboard Problem?!?!

Yeah it is indeed the classic no display, no beep issue. I really have no idea how to fix it.
I've had and heard many of these kind of issues. Its a motherboard issue. In the end, the motherboard ends up in the bin.

Re: Motherboard Problem?!?!

from my experience you are facing problems with dead power supply. Try the new PS first.

Re: Motherboard Problem?!?!

no vid no beep might be PSU (power supply unit) as nandrasec suggests and it doesnt power the graphics card, if that doesnt work check with an old cheap vid card, if none of this works switch motherboard

if something was faulty in the CPU it would beep for anything, its directly on the socket (note: this depends on motherboard, most BIOS' does check CPU 100%)
