CPU Compatibility for my prehistoric motherboard?
Well perhaps prehistoric isn't the right term, but it is old...
I have a Packard Bell Sunshine DDR2 motherboard 'bout 3 years old now since I bought it. To be fair, it's served me well, however with my other specs it's really tying me down in terms of the CPU bottlenecking my PC. I'm only a novice in most respects and am finding it difficult to find CPU compatibility for my motherboard. Most people suggest scrapping this motherboard and finding a new computer all-together but my budget is tight, so if I can walk around that issue it would be a far greater help. I've currently got an Intel Pentium Four 3.06ghz, it seems to have served me well, however with all my games the FPS etc is horrific, serving as low as 9fps even on low settings. Now I believe this may partially be the CPU's fault, as my other computer parts seem to be more than enough to scave a little over 9fps, to be fair. All help appreciated and if needed will add more to the Specifications list. Specs are: Intel Pentium 4 3.06ghz 3072mb RAM GeForce 9500 GT Windows XP Home |
