Re: Buying Processors & Motherboards Online

I never tried the online shopping for motherboards. Check the same in your local hardware shop.

Re: Buying Processors & Motherboards Online

I've bought only from some sites in my country. Anyway, it's a safe operation. As long as you buy from a well known site, you won't have any problems.

Re: Buying Processors & Motherboards Online

I used to buy a lot of my processors and motherboards for building machines off Amazon and eBay, but once I started to get a few returns and having to try and send it back it just wasn't worth it for what I saved. I'd much rather now buying out of a shop for an extra couple of pound and be able to return it without having to post it.

Re: Buying Processors & Motherboards Online

I normally buy from Newegg, Amazon, or TigerDirect, and have had few problems. I decide what I want, by exact model number, then shop for price. One of those three usually has it. I live in Montana, in the boonies, and don't have such conveniences as a computer store (for mobos or CPUs) anywhere within 100 miles. Gotta use the Internet or do without. Thank heaven we do have UPS and FedEx here.

Re: Buying Processors & Motherboards Online

I always buy online-Maplin/PCWorld/etc are waaay overpriced. Amazon, Aria or Scan for me.

@Davnel-is UPS as crap in the States as it is here? Every time I order something that comes via UPS it arrives late (sometimes months late)

UPS and FedEx both are very good here. Barring a weather excuse, the deliveries are always on time, and they only occasionally use the packages as soccer balls.

Re: Buying Processors & Motherboards Online

Haha I guess they just aren't as concerned outside of the US. This January I ordered a new case from Germany, didn't arrive until April because UPS lost it. Meanwhile If I order something from HK it arrives within a working week.
