Overclock not displayed?

Windows XP Windows Server Windows 7 Linux


Overclock not displayed?

I overclocked my processor not long ago from 3GHz to 4GHz. On all 3rd party programs and in the BIOS the speed shows as 4GHz, however in Windows system properties it still shows as 3GHz. I reinstalled Windows and it still showed 3GHz. Is Windows actually making use of the faster clock speed?
