C++ compared to maple town
So i am in a calculas class that uses maple town, this program is supposivly very similar to C. My question is what is the major differences between C++ and C. I have programed some in C++ but my major area of expertise is in Java, so i am wondering if it is worth it to try and figure out this new language.

Re: C++ compared to maple town
C++ is an OO language, C is not. C is strictly procedural. No classes, dot notation, polymorphism or inheritance. Both require you to manage your own memory. Basic syntax is very much the same; both have a sparse keyword set. I have no idea why someone would create a language that was C like, especially for calculus, since C itself is extremely flexible, has double precision data types, and tons of math libraries available. Many people code it with cryptic variable and counter names, but the language doesn't require you do so. You can actually be very verbose with it if it suits you.
OTOH, unless there's something crippled about it, another language is just the same ideas and mechanisms with different syntax. |

Re: C++ compared to maple town
Maple town, never heard of it. Is it a custom tool designed by the school?
