Fedora 8 Desktop ?

I was wondering if someone might be able to tell me how activate the
Desktop Effects. It will not enable every time I try it. I assumed it
was driver problem, but I downloaded and installed the lasted NVidia
drivers for my graphics card per a web site I found, but it does not
make much difference.

Try this:
click on System - Preferences - Personal - Sessions and add this
entry:
compiz --replace -v &
