RHEL, CentOS
Perhaps this isn't the right group; if so, my apologies.
My original intent was to post to a/the CentOS newsgroup, but I didn't find one on my news server. Does one exist? I've recently installed CentOS 5 and had a couple of questions I hoped could be answered by someone out there. I'll wait to post the questions 'til I get better info as to the proper newsgroup. Thanks, Glen |

The otherway around if Red Hat does not supply rpm's for some application CentOS rpm's can be applied to RHEL. Kind regards, Jan Gerrit Kootstra |

CentOS doesn't appear to have a newsgroup. I see forums, IRC, Mailing Lists, and commercial support at their site. If you really want to use a newsgroup, this is probably as close as you can get. |

If they relate to CentOS or RHEL specific tools/applications/configuration files, a Red Hat newsgroup might be good. The server I'm using carries alt.linux.redhat 212 articles this year, 82 last 6 months alt.os.linux.redhat 839 " " " 430 " " " comp.os.linux.redhat 274 " " " 98 " " " linux.redhat 2425 " " " 581 " " " but article counts are no indication of quality. If the questions relate to Linux, or some other generic subject, the big-eight groups might be more suitable - comp.os.linux.* >I'll wait to post the questions 'til I get better info as to the proper >newsgroup. Hopefully, you'll include the details needed, such as what you are trying to accomplish, what you have tried, what you expected, what results and error messages - and appropriate SMALL snippets of the relevant logs that show the problem.
