Do you remember what was that message? Is explorer is ending when you are on desktop itself or when opening folders?

I don't think it is a virus problem. Try some common tricks:

1. Download CC Cleanerfrom the following link and do a complete cleanup, especially registry clean. Fix all issues.

Download CCleaner 2.01.507 - filehippo.com

2. Download shellXView and remove all unwanted shell extensions. Be careful with this.

the problem is when the system is started the explorer is automatically ending by itself and a new explorer process is starting by itself..this makes me so irritate.explorer starts and ends in 5 sec again starts again ends....some times the explorer doesnt sdtart and hangs.at that time i have to end explorer.exe in the processes and start a new process eplorer.exe, then it starts again automatic cycle

Something really screwed up. I strongly recommend a reinstall.

Re: Explorer end task - the explorer is ending by itself

As a last try before formatting and doing a reinstall run AutoRuns.

Under Option check "verify code signatures" and refresh the autorun scan. Wait for it to complete. Now go to the explorer tab.

Uncheck each item that you see is "not verified" or from "Microsoft Corporation". If the publisher field value is empty check and make sure that it is a required item. Otherwise uncheck it.

Do the same thing for Logon Tab, Internet Explorer Tab, Services tab. After you finish Reboot.

I would also suggest reinstall. Something within the program settings has been distorted. However before reinstalling restart your PC with your XP CD and run Checkdisk.
