Hi there. I've designed a new logon screen to replace the boring one on window XP. I am using Recources Hacker to make this.

I'm having an error message come up when I try to replace the bitmap file.

This is what i'm doing.

1. Copy logonui.exe from system32
2. Open the copy of logonui.exe in RH
3. "Action" - "Replace Bitmap"
4. "Open file with new bitmap"
5. Then I open my file I made in photoshop, let's call it "newlogon.bmp"
6. Error message: "Access violation at address 00402791 in module 'ResHacker.exe'. Write of address 02710000."

I'm totally new ot this and I don't know why this error is coming up? Can anyone help me?

I've sorted it. I was trying to use a 16-bit BMP image, which I've found out it does not support. A bug makes this violation message display, it was apparently fixed in a revision, but I reckon it's not!
