help.. my computer is acting on its own...
I'm using windows XP, yesterday when I played some of my video files using VLC player I've noticed that the volume is increasing and decreasing by itself, also the video scenes are jumping randomly from one to another without me doing anything, note that these video files were working without problems before yesterday, then I tried playing other video files and the same problem occurred. I tried opening the video files with another video player (KMplayer)and the same problem occurred. even when I open widows explorer or browse the internet the scroll bars move on their own. even in this moment I'm writing this message the scroll bars are moving on their own. I did the followings:
1. I restored my system to an earlier date, but the same problem remained 2. I disconnected the internet in hope that this may stop, but it was no use 3. I virus scanned the system but no use 4. I ran an anti spy ware and no use what should I do, I suspect it's a virus but the virus scan didn't catch it, is there something I can do other than formatting the hard disk |

Re: help.. my computer is acting on its own...
Have you tried replacing your Keyboard with a new one. I doubt this weird problem might be because of your Keyboard.

Re: help.. my computer is acting on its own...
Try disabling your keyboard through device manager... then Try VLC... if you still get the problem, we can check for Virus or malware...

Re: help.. my computer is acting on its own...
thank you so much for your help, without you I couldn't figure it was a hardware problem, here is what I did
I turned off the PC then I disconnected the keyboard, then I turned on the PC again and I tried VLC, the problem remained, then my father thought instead of the keyboard it might be the mouse, I have two mouses connected to my PC a PS/2 and optical USB, from device manager I diabled the USB one which I mostly use, then I tried using the PS/2 mouse and the problem was gone, once again I enabled the USB mouse and the problem returned. now I can say the problem is in the USB mouse, but I should figure out if the problem is from the mouse itself or from the USB connection. thanks to you I figured it was a hardware problem, all the time I was thinking it was a software problem, till now there is no problem, if the problem occurs again I call you. thank you again. |

...Mostly the USB mouse should have gone wrong. Cheers, Albin |
