Graphic Problem
Hi all,
Everytime When I install the driver of a GeForce 8400 GS on a Windows XP, I get a BSOD. It displays device driver got stuck in an infinite loop. The file may be nv4_disp. This may be caused by the device or the device driver programming. What can be done in this case? Thanks |

Re: Graphic Problem
Try installing an older driver, this is one of the first things that they will tell you if the current updated driver is having problems.

Re: Graphic Problem
I have tried to install an older driver and also the new driver (NVIDIA DRIVERS 190.62 WHQL) after re formatting the PC. But the problem is still there and it's driving me nuts!!!
Thanks for the suggestion. Any other suggestion will be very much appreciated. Kind Regards |

Re: Graphic Problem
Un-install the device and reboot.
Let it install automatically a driver from the internet or a generic one included with XP and see what happens. |

Re: Graphic Problem
Lets mess around with the hardware acceleration. Right click on your desktop and click on "Properties". Navigate to the "Settings" tab and click the "Advanced" button and goto the "Troubleshoot" tab. Slide that hardware acceleration bar down all the way to "None" and click the "Apply" button. If this works then I would start adjusting the acceleration a little to see how far you can go before you start receiving the error again.
If this doesn't work, let us know and we will take another approach. Another thought is that your video card could be going bad, but lets not say that yet. |
