Lost Favorites in Outlook 2007

I have searched all over for help with this - but to no avail. Suddenly before my own eyes i saw my favorites folder deleting. I was working in screen resolutions to change the settings of calendar viewing so that I could see more on the monthly viewing - but was having to flick back and forth from email to calender to notes etc - the swish - away went my email favorites folder. How can I get this back? I have tried resetnavpane - that didn't work, I have searched other folders in the nav pane but it is not anywhere there. I would very much like this back as I rely on it so much and often change what is in there on a weekly basis deppending on what is most important that week. Thanks for any advise. I have read other threads and tried them but they haven't worked for me.

Dear friend,

Run this command in the run box (make sure Outlook is closed):
Outlook.exe /resetnavpane

Re: Lost Favorites in Outlook 2007

thank you - I have already tried that one as mentioned in my post. However, I tried it again just to be sure but to no avail. I do notice that if I right click on the inbox and select remove from favorites then right click again and select add to favorites - then my favorite folders reappear in nav pain - although not headed as favorites and of course they close down when I close outlook.

Re: Lost Favorites in Outlook 2007

Dear ,

1. Open Microsoft Outlook and select the folder you would like to add to your favourite folders

2. Right click on the folder and select “Add to Favourite Folders”

Re-download all your emails

Re: Lost Favorites in Outlook 2007

I have done that - severaltimes - and they do show up in what appear to be favroite folder - but it actually isn't headed up as one and then when I close outlook and re open the favorites have gone again so I remove and add them again (as in previous post) and they come back again..

Re: Lost Favorites in Outlook 2007

Hi...

Try it this way... On the top menu, click on "view" and then highlight "navigation pane" ... it should open up another menu, and at the bottom of the list there should be a "favorites folder" -- make sure this is checked, if its not checked then it won't show up on the navigation pane...

Hope that helps...

You are a star - thank you, thank you, thank you, - all back together again. Feels good! Knew it had to be something simple - and it was - goodness knows how that became unticked. Tra la la! Thanks again! x

Re: Lost Favorites in Outlook 2007

Hi,
Thanks for the assist. There are two bugs here. In my case the line item re Favorites was missing from every drop down menu so what most found ot work, didn't. But running the rebuild menu did work. Must be at least two bugs here with similar outcome
