Memory card problems W890i

I've just got a w890i (awesome phone) and i got a 8gb memory card for
it. However, HALF way through transferring music to it it says the card
is full - but only 3 1/2 gb are used up???

when the phone is not connected to the pc the phone recognises that
there is still 4 1/2 gb spare...

any ideas? is this a common problem and is there a way around it? i've
got almost 700 songs so far which is brilliant, but i'd like to have
double if its possible!

i have sort of found a sollution.

When you have the memory card in the phone and the phone connected to
pc via sony ericsson cable, you can only access part of the memory card
for some reason.

when you put the memory card directly into the pc memory card reader,
it works fine and you can fill up all 8gb!! when this full card goes
back into the phone, it works fine and reads all 8gb of music (nearly
1500 songs!!!)
