Finally had the guts to oc the CPU .. and here goes the results .. Ok .. here are the stock settings :

FSB : 200 ,
CPU Multiplier : 11 ,
CPU Clock : 2200 MHz ,
HTT Multi. : 5 ,
HTT Freq. : 1000 MHz ,
Mem. Bus : 200.7 MHz (ddr402 effective) ,

And here are the oc'ed clocks :

FSB : 242 ,
CPU Multiplier : 10
CPU Clock : 2420 MHz
HTT Multi. : 4
HTT Freq. : ~968 MHz , but actually at 970 MHz
Mem. Bus : 201.9 MHz (ddr404 effective)

Wow ... and absolutely stable ... i wish i had better modules .. then i could have pushed the FSB to 250 .... damm my stupid cheap Hynix modules ... dhut .. if only those OCZ one's were cheaper ....

Anyway ... the improvements are quite noticeable .. i specially like the 3DMark06 increase ... my initial score at stock speeds were around ~850 ... and now .. a whooping ~1000 already ... that too without the optimal oc .. i wonder how much i would be getting if i could actually push the FSB to 250 ... the highest i could reach was 245 .. but hey ... lets play it safe huh ?? Also .. the temps are not much higher either ... about 2c under load ... thats "in my terms" is Awesome ... OMG .. can't wait to get this baby running at 2.5 GHz .... also .. technically , i've a 3800+ running right now ... muuaah ...

Apparently , there is hardly any diff. in mem. bandwidth . I reckon this is due to the lowered HTT and the upped FSB .. in a way cancels each other ... but the overall CPU performance has increased ....

CPU Temps ??

After I plug in the other fans I am looking to overclock also. But it is the same situation as I was having before. Both mobo and CPU temps are always the same for me.

Just saw CPU at 42C and Mobo at 43C .... but mobo temp never rises above 44C and so does CPU (at stock settings). I think I got to have two extra fans ...

Well .. considering the fact that u and i have a similar kind of cabinet ur temps do seem to be on the high side .. install some fans .. my mobo temps under max. load i've seen so far is 39-40c ... and with the oc , and no ac , the max temp. i saw was 49c till now ... fine enough for me ...

Hmmmm .. got a bit higher , specially with the FSB and the HTT .. here goes ..

FSB : 255 ,
CPU Multiplier : 9.5
CPU Clock : 2426.3 MHz
HTT Multi. : 4
HTT Freq. : ~1020 MHz
Mem. Bus : 202 MHz (ddr404 effective)

Man life's hard ... 999 CPU Marks in 3DMark06 ... dammm ... but a very solid increase in mem. bandwidth tests ...

Hey Strider ... 9.5 for the multi. is ok ???? Though i've reverted to 242*10 (previous post) ... coz i read around about the conflict that may arise due to the memory controller .... Hmm ... goota settle with 979 CPU Mark in 3DMark06 for now then ... and 973 MHz (*2 = 1946 MHz in dual channel) for the HTT ...

Hmmm ... did some searching and back to the old oc .... .5 multiplier has some issues with the mem. controller .. *sigh* ... anyway .. what do u think .. should i leave the voltage to auto or set it manually to something like 1.52V etc. etc. ??

Doing anything wrong ?? Almost same as your's 2420MHz but with a much higher HTL speed : 1100 .. ohh and I really do feel the difference now.

QS rating 3830+

Oye .... get the HT multiplier to 4x ...

Also .. what'r ur RAM at ??? I mean .. for 20 MHz on the FSB .. ur RAM is also takinga beating , unless u've force it to 166 i.e.

Well .. those Zion modules of urs is really taking a beating .. i mean .. 200 to 220 is not recommended , specially since the modules don't have any heat dissipation mechanism .... try some 3DMark or any other benchmark ... check the stability ... i'd prefer , take about an hour to test stability , the longer the tests , the better ..

Just ran 3D mark 03, no problems.

Got a 100 increase in CPU score.

Also since I don't continuously play games I don't think a very long test should be necessary. Still I think I'll test for half an hour later.
