Pproblem with mouse click - single click goes to double click some times

hi frnds,
my system is having a problem with the mouse.what it actually happens is when ever i'm single clicking the mouse it is leading to double click some times.I have checked the folder options also,so there is no problem with the settings.I have also changed the old mouse with a new one but the problem remained the same.Do u have any solution for this. Not only one system ,3 systems are attacked by this problem in my home network.so plz try to find the solution.

Re: problem with mouse click

Control Panel -> Mouse -> Buttons tab, under "Double Click Speed", set the slider to a bit more on the right towards "Faster"

hey if it is a problem with the mouse then y all the 3 systems are effected.Thats not atall the problem. No problem with the settings. If it was the problem then why the mouse single click leads to single click sometimes and double click sometimes

i think this may be due to a spyware or a malware that is runing in the background

Re: problem with mouse click

yes spyware could be a reason, but then it would effect all single clicks and chnage them to double clicks. does the problem happen with all single clicks ?

and which antispyware do you use ??

Re: problem with mouse click

maybe a hardware problem, it is caused by the mouse it self....i had this problem...try to get a mouse for your freind and try it if it gives the same problem then it's not from the mouse

Even i have the same problem...I have a samsung ball mouse..Have been using it for 3yrs r so..But this prob occurred recently...I think it is due to excessive usage of the left click button...The usual wear n tear...Normally resolves wen i give a big hard tap on its head!!! But only temporarily....After a few ten clicks it again appears..

may be try swapping the functions of the right and left mouse buttons..using some software...But the only thing is it will take time for u to adjust to the change..R else use ur left hand after swapping the buttons...

Re: problem with mouse click

try lowering the double click sensitivity from Mouse properties as I told earlier and see if it helps.

Re: problem with mouse click

hey, If it is not spyware / malware then, i think there may be problem with the PS/2 port of the Motherboard.
Try with connection a Serial port mouse and see what happens.

Once due to power fluctuation my motherboad has got repair and i too got the same thing.

Regards
Albin
