Explorer 7 - Lots of New Windows!!!

I have tried all solutions proposed on your site to fix this problem. Just downloaded the Explorer 7 and no matter what action is taken - anywhere - every click opens a new window, not a new tab. Then the thing crashes, I send error report and lo! The problem lies with MS/Windows and they have no fix for the crash. Can anyone please help - and if you can, please bear in mind... I am in no way technically minded, but I follow instructions accurately!!! Many many thanks.

are you talking about Internet Explorer 7 ? have you installed all security updates to Internet Explorer 7 ?

Also check your settings in Internet Explorer.
Tools -> Internet Options -> under General, click Settings button for tabs and make sure tabbed browsing is enabled.

If that still doesn't fix, start Internet Explorer, disable all addons, restart IE7 and check whether links open correctly.

roll back to Internet Explorer 6 and try installing IE7 again.
