Help to eliminate wrap around text in Outlook 2003 emails

I'm having a problem with Outlook 2003 on our Windows XP systems. This is a sudden change with reading messages both being sent and received in this program.

We are now having text wrap around issues, where we have to scroll left-right to read email messages of length. Text of any length would normally not just continue on and on in the same line...but would drop down to the next line so that you could read the entire message in the window/viewing pane.

We have not changed anything on our systems. I have had our local IT guy helping on this and we're stumped. We've made all combinations of changes in the Options, Mail Formating settings and have not been able to remedy this.

Is this a Microsoft issue and we need a patch or something? Or, does anyone know how this can be resolved?

Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately, this doesn't apply, as I've had my settings at either HTML or Rich Text Format, rather than Plain Text Format. Any other suggestions?

if you change it to Plane text for testing, do you still get lines wrapped ?

When I change it to Plain Text format, I no longer have this issue. However, unfortunately, this format will limit my ability to change font, bold text, and view pasted images within the body of the text. For now, this is a solution, but I would love to get the Rich Text or HTML functioning as it should be without the wrap around text. Thanks much for all your help.

In Outlook click on Tools -> Options -> Mail format.
Turn off option "Use Microsoft Word 2003 to edit email messages" and "Use Microsoft Word 2003 to read Rich Text messages".
