64-bit - 32-bit wats the difference?

i was checking on the internet for a new laptop and i read that this laptop i wanted is 64-bit ,, i googled it to check whats the difference and i rad that its more fast and things like that
but my question is,, what are the things that other PC ( 32-bit )
cant read from that laptop and what are the things that can be read ????

what is the question ? if you mean storage, then files saved in 64 bit windows like movies/songs will play in 32 bit as well.

soo all those files mp3 mpeg jpeg gif works just fine ok,,
wat about programs,, if i had photoshop on 64-bit and saved a psd file would it open in 32-bit
thats my question ,bcz duno if u know about it,, i use 3d max and when you want to render an image it takes couple of hours sometimes couple of days ,so i thought if 64-bit system is more powerfull and more fast than i can gain time rendering .
but wat if i wanted to view the .max file on a 32-bit pc can i do that??

well theres a lack of 64 bit programs out there, AMD CPUs should be able to emulate 32 bit tho, i dont know about the Intel CPUs..

the difference is support for more RAM..mainly.. (PLEASE NOTE: this is not the only difference)

64 bit programs are still limited. But most of the developers will start building 64-bit versions soon considering the upcoming Windows 7 release.

The files saved from the 32 bit version of an app should open fine in it's 64bit counterpart. Software companies should consider such scenarios.
