I'm thinking of buying a new notebook. Budget would be $1k-$1.5k. hmm... Currently looking at a Sony VAIO VGN-NS330J/S 15.4-Inch Laptop since I fancy the looks and the specs are just about right for what I do. I'm just wondering.. any suggestions are welcome!

It looks cool. But specs are definitely not cutting edge (Core 2 Duo T4200 & the price is just $680). The CPU must be at least Intel Core 2 Duo T6500.

For that $1 - $1.5 k budget you should definitely go for a better option. How about Sony VAIO VGN-FW465J/B 16.4-Inch. See the reviews, it's a bomb!!

Specs

• Intel Core 2 Duo P8700 Processor (2.53GHz)
• 4GB RAM
• 320GB Hard Drive, Blu-ray Disc support - BD ROM
• Genuine Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit
• 16.4" XBRITE-ECO Technology

Personally I will choose an HP or Toshiba model with similar specs ( only because of the low price tags).

Hmm.. you talked some sense into me.. The money that I'll save can actually get me another external HDD... knocked some sense into me there... hahaha... Thanks. Although I like the one that you recommended. I'm gonna take a look at it at the store and see how it goes.
