Yahoo mail freezes my computer

I've been having a few issues with yahoo mail lately. I was wondering if anyone knew why this was happening. Here's the problem. Every so often, when loading yahoo mail, it freezes my computer. I've got 4GB ram, 3.0 gHz quad core cpu. I use opera browser. I'm using avast free anti-virus & have no spyware or malware. I just did a fresh install of Windows 7 Ultimate, 64bit. Does anybody have an idea? thanks.

Re: yahoo mail

Agreeing with cogent here. Try getting Mozilla or IE or something and see if that freezes your computer.

Was this problem happening before you performed the fresh install?

yes, it happened too. The fresh install was due to me doing something I shouldn't have. I clicked onto something that caused all my drivers to go, including the ahci drivers that are required for my board to use all 6 sata ports.

Re: yahoo mail

if the whole thing freezes, as in, not just the browser,
then it's likely
1) your RAM's gone bad
2) your PC is overheating.

Re: Yahoo mail freezes my computer

It might be due to Flash ads in Yahoo mail. Make sure that you're using the latest version of Adobe Flash Player. Alternatively use the Adblock Plus Addon in Firefox.
