I recently installed k_lite mega codec pack 165.I setup WMP as the default player for 3gp,mp4,dvd,avi..I also have media player classic.Now after installing the codec pack i find that all files except vob files play well in WMP10.While vob file refuses to open it plays in Media player classic n VLC player.But the prob is that the the brightness n contrast level is very lo in these players(both 4vob n avi)..
But the same file has good luminance levels in WMP.I configured the ffmpeg decoder n the luminance increased to normal in media classic...but got over illuminated in WMP.For vob file its mpeg-2 decoder n i dont get satisfactory results after configuring it.Can i configure it seperately for each of the players!
Can u plz help me out..If i hadnt installed ffmpeg then wats the default decoder used to decode avi n vob?Is it prob with the ffmpeg decoder?can i set a different decoder for avi n vob files?

Very very important.......did you uninstall all other codecs 1st?

Media player classic should play vob files just fine. Since it uses ffmpeg/directx filters, it should play any file for which you have the codec or filter installed. In Media Player Classic settings, I believe that you can edit or add filters and change priority of them, so you should be able to have it play back the vob files.

What version did you install... basic standard full or megapack?

No I don't think u can configure codecs differently for different players.

Did u install the DVD decoders that comes with K-Lite Codec pack ? They are not enabled by default.

Or you can install WMP11 that plays DVD (vob files) also.

I installed the megacodec pack165.I didnt uninstall lame mp3 n divx but unchecked the option in klite codec pack n chose not to install it bcas i already had one.How to set the priority?it has sum numbers like 00007000 in it.how to change it?
n wy is that Windows media player plays it fine n media classic doesnt?i mean wy is the diference in luminence?

Which decoders do u mean bakuryu?i think i checked almost all.the picture is visible but the briteness n contrast is bad in media classic.but in WMP its good!

If you are having a lot of difficulties... I would recommend IMO to uninstall all codecs.. and try installing k-lite from scratch... Unless you have a real need for the mega codec pack, I would also try the standard install. I have always found that the more codes u install the more problems u are likely to have.
The standard version should have just about any codec u are likely to need. Also let it install the default choices... unless there is something specific you need to change... usually the default decoders work better...
