I'd assumed that an automated system would record payment against a DD to the customer account, and then action occurs for the list of those that are outstanding after a while. Presumably still automated, it might in the first instance issue a standard final demand. The same system could therefore pick up customer-driven electronic or BACS payments and simply mark them as paid. Are you suggesting that the DD system relies on the banks bouncing them and creating the 'unpaid' list for the supplier ? Do many get lost and never paided ? Bill |
