Three claim customer 0870 numbers are "local rate"

Here's a scan from my "welcome to three" booklet, which says that 0870 calls
are charged at local rate!
How can they get away with this - isn't that illegal??

you want uk.telecom.mobile

perhaps three charge 0870 and 0845 at the same rate, therefore making
them local rate? i dunno

Possibly - there has been an adjudication by the Advertising Standards
Authority - if the booklet counts as advertising you could report it. A
search of the ASA website should produce the adjudication, or the link
has probably been posted here (uk.telecom) before.

You agreed to the contract so must have read all the terms, conditions and
pricing. You can't agree to something then complain because you don't like
it!

Agreeing to a contract doesn't automatically make the terms of that
contract legal.

Well what do they charge to call 0870 - is it included?

OTOH despite recent claims that '3' are cleaning up their act, this sort of
thing tends to confirm that they are just the same as ever.
