Re: NEWS: BT payment charges 'unjustified'

BT used to say their line rental was £12 a month but you could get £1
a month discount if you paid by dd reducing the price to £11 a month.

However, at the same time as increasing their line rental by 50p a
month to £12.50 a month, they altered the way the figures were
presented so that, instead of saying monthly line rental was now
£12.50 a month but you can get £1.50 a month discount if you pay by
dd, they said the standard line rental was £11/month but that you had
to pay £1.50 a month extra (£12.50 a month) if you didn't pay by dd.

Exatly, they now charge you for not using DD even if yoy pay online and on
time.

I am now going to pay by the most expensive way they allow, not sure if
thats Cheque or through post office but I will find out when I get next
bill.

Oh yes I pay monthly so thats 12 payment costs each year.

I posted all this in January, subject "BT stands on its Head"

Cutting off your nose to spite your face ?

Demonstrating that you consider your own time is worthless ?

Buying 12 stamps to help support the Post Office ?

And of course it will provide BT with evidence for the OFT about how
expensive non-DD paymets are.
