Caller Display
I got a call this morning from a sales organisation and on the Caller
ID, it showed an 0800 number. How was the caller able to arrange for an 0800 number to be transmitted instead of the genuine geographical number he was calling from? -- Alasdair. |

Unless things have changed it is called Number presentation and is available from BT and no doubt others. It is surely better than number witheld. Peter Crosland |

Surprisingly, my daughter didn't tell him our 'contact details' and asked him to call back later - which he didn't! -- J B |

So long as the 0800 number is registered to them this is perfectly legitimate. As for genuine goegraphical number, do you actually know that the phone in question has one? -- Nic |
