Batteries for old DECT phone - NiCads or NiMH?
I have an old Philips Onis Vox 6611 which I bought in 1999 and it was
fitted with two AA NiCad batteries, which have now expired. AFAIK NiCads are no longer available - so can I use NiMH? Any restrictions? Will any NiMH batteries work? Can I just get some from B&Q? Will they charge properly? -- Chris |

I'm sure you can still buy NiCds, they're better than NiMh for some applications. Take a look on Ebay. -- Chris Green |

Can't go wrong for a quid. -- <http://ale.cx/> (AIM:troffasky) () 12:55:22 up 12 days, 17:14, 2 users, load average: 0.31, 0.22, 0.15 Yes. I'm just guessing. |

Forget it, abuse them and ditch them when they die. Of course, you could invest in a processor controlled discharge/charge station with dV/dT monitoring and automatic cell profiling you can export to an Excel spreadsheet to match cells and monitor cell degradation for optimising replacement strategies but, FOUR FOR A QUID, how's about we don't worry about all that? -- Clint Sharp |

It makes me smile when I see two of the orange and white batteries in the picture, and the seller claims they're worth n*£1... -- <http://ale.cx/> (AIM:troffasky) () 09:10:30 up 13 days, 13:30, 2 users, load average: 0.24, 0.33, 0.28 Yes.
