DECT base station as charger

I have a twin DECT phone system (BT Equinox), which comes with two
cradles, one of which is a base station/charger and the other a
charger only. I'd like to add two more handsets, and the cheapest way
seems to be to buy another twin Equinox system.

Obviously I'd have to de-register the new handsets from the new base
station and register them to the old, but having done that can I
simply use the new base station as a charger (by plugging it into the
mains but not to the phone line) or will that confuse matters?

Yes, you can use the base just as a charger. No problem with that. It will
work fine.

If you had been starting from scratch then look at the Siemens E455 (with
ansaphone) or C460IP (BT and VOIP)phones as you don't use the base station
for the charger and the Base can be tucked away somewhere. Each phone comes
with it's own charger.

I'm not sure there's any possible way to fix the syntax of that
sentence simply by adding words to the end...

In fact, your question probably makes less sense.

Not really, the original sentence merely needed the apostrophe removing
from "it's" - surely you spotted that..?

"..comes with it is own charger" makes even less sense.

Call it pedantry if you wish, to me it's (note the correct use of the
apostrophe..!) just a desire to see good English.

I think it's what they call a prescriptive as opposed to descriptive
approach to language.
